My name is Jo Boston. I live in Oxford but come from London where I did a three year Dance training at London School of Contemporary Dance ‘The Place’ way back in 1977. During my time there, I trained and taught Pilates with Alan Herdman who at the end of my three years training, employed me on a Cruise Ship to teach Pilates and dance.
On board the ship I met a French Magician who asked me to join his troupe as a clown performing all around France, West Africa, and other countries, which is what I did for the following 9 years.
I then met my husband in 1988 and we opened a Restaurant in Faringdon, which we have now run for over 20 years. During this time I have continued to study Pilates and Yoga, and in 2006 I gained my PGCE at Brookes University Oxford in order to teach for the Council, which I did for approximately 6 years.
It was a joy to meet Stephanie who coincidently had trained at ‘The Place’ and with Alan Herdman like myself, albeit twelve years or so after me!
I feel privileged to be able to work with Stephanie and delighted to have found the way “back to my roots”. I still have weekly classes with her to maintain and develop my technique and teaching skills.
